Director and producer Gerardo Herrero brought together a luxury international cast, led by Harvey Keitel, Saffron Burrows, and Eduard Fernández, for this ambitious adaptation of the homonymous investigative noir novel written by Manuel Vázquez Montalbán. Filmed in English, it follows the steps of an American female student living in Madrid in the 1980s who investigates the mysterious disappearance in the 1950s of a Basque politician exiled in the United States. Both time periods are magnificently recreated through a most outstanding art direction.
