ATLAS OF HUMAN GEOGRAPHY

DIRECTED BY Azucena Rodríguez

A Brechtian musical that addresses the wave of evictions that occurred in Spain at the end of the first decade of the 21st century due to the global economic crisis. It features a fantastic soundtrack by the prestigious composer and singer Silvia Pérez Cruz, who also makes her acting debut, along with Goya Award winner Adriana Ozores and the Almodóvar regular Lluís Homar. Directed by Eduard Cortés (‘Los Pelayos’), the film weaves together three interconnected stories: one of a young married couple with a daughter who loses their home, another of a policeman compelled to fulfill his duty at any cost, and the third of a banker overwhelmed by his own scruples. It champions universal values like solidarity and hope, even under the most adverse circumstances. The movie won the Goya Award for Best Original Song, the Best Soundtrack at the Malaga Film Festival, and the Jury Prize at the Tallinn Film Festival.

Fran, Rosa, Ana and Marisa have jobs putting together an Atlas of Geography. Their fairly predictable lives are about to change, starting now. While working on the Atlas, they experience romance, heartbreak, infidelity, and reconciliation. As a result, they redefine their lives and maybe even find love. Sounds impossible? Or unbelievable? Well, sometimes it really happens.
