Although he specializes in thriller films (as the successes of ‘La caja 507’ and ‘No habrá paz para los malvados’ prove), Basque director Enrique Urbizu also excels in other genres. Such is the case here, where he delivers a family drama with echoes of a western, centered around a problematic truck driver; a gambler with countless problems. His life becomes even more chaotic with the sudden appearance of his brother, whom he hadn’t seen in years. José Coronado performs superbly in this movie.

Fito has not seen his older brother Pedro for years, not since he was a boy. Now, Fito is married to Juana and has a son named Jon. And a truck. And a debt to the bank. And a problem that keeps him from enjoying what he’s got: Fito gambles everything away.

One day, Pedro returns. To stay with them for a few days. That’s all. And that visit, apparently so short and unimportant, will change their lives, leaving irreparable marks on the heart.
