Oscar-winning producer Mariela Besuievsky, originally from Uruguay, is behind one of the few films that portray the military dictatorship that the South American country had to endure between 1973 and 1985. A young footballer signed by Osasuna in Pamplona (the director, Ana Díez, is from Navarre) arrives in Spain and reunites with a friend from his childhood – a girl who fled 20 years ago. Together, they recall the tragic events that took place in Uruguay and how their lives changed. At the same time, football is reclaimed as an escape and a vital aspect of Uruguayans’ lives. The film was selected for the Málaga Film Festival.

30-some emigrant soccer player Sabih signs on to Spanish team Osasuna: this is his first time outside “”Paisito”” (Uruguay). He soon runs into Rosana, who has waited 20 years for Xavi to come and explain what really happened in Montevideo in 1973.They were twelve, from different backgrounds and in love, just one week before the bloodiest military coup of South America’s smallest country.
